Forrest Hansen

Founder & Chief Executive Officer
San Diego, CA
forrest.hansen@sentarivr.com

Forrest graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a degree in Computer Science and earned dual master's degrees in Space Systems Operations and Applied Design for Innovation from the Naval Postgraduate School. His academic work included a capstone on autonomous drone swarms in partnership with DARPA and a thesis on alternative positioning using Starlink for GPS-denied environments. His education combines technical expertise and practical design, giving him a solid foundation for building effective, user-focused training tools.

As a naval officer, Forrest has seen firsthand how complex, costly, and resource-intensive traditional training can be. He has trained on expensive, room-sized simulators that too often become show-and-tell pieces rather than real training tools, and he has planned and led numerous military training evolutions, giving him a deep appreciation for the necessity of repetition. These experiences shaped his belief that immersive, scalable technology is essential to making training more effective and accessible. His background gives him a clear understanding of what real-world training demands, and how to improve it.

As Founder and CEO of Sentari VR Systems, Forrest is also the company's lead builder, personally developing the mixed-reality software behind its training systems. He led the design and development of Build and Breach, Sentari's flagship close-quarters battle training product that turns any room into a mixed-reality rehearsal space. His focus stays on practical, operator-driven solutions that train people better, safer, and cheaper, without complex setups or extra hardware.
